Embark on an educational adventure with the ESA Ocean Synergy Training Course 2025. This is your opportunity to join a cohort of dedicated Master, PhD students, and Post Docs on the Statsraad Lehmkuhl together with expert lecturers and supervisor. IMPORTANT

The application submission is now closed. There are over 40 fully-funded spots available; most of these spots are reserved for students from ESA Member States and affiliated/cooperating states*, with a few fully-funded spots reserved for other nations, including the USA and developing countries. Additional places-aboard the Statsraad Lehmkuhl for participation in the at-sea training course are also available outside of these applications; these additional places are on a first come, first serve basis and interested applicants will have to bear the full cost of participation. Those can be accessed via the standard Statsraad Lehmkuhl website.

*ESA has 22 Member States: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia are Associate Members. Canada takes part in certain programmes under a cooperation agreement. ESA has signed European Cooperating States Agreements with Bulgaria, Cyprus and Slovakia, and cooperation agreements with Croatia and Malta.

The ESA Ocean Synergy Training Course 2025 is part of the One Ocean Expedition, which is a scientific and educational voyage around the Northern Hemisphere oceans, aboard the tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl, in 2025-2026, please refer to their handbook, there, you can discover more about life on board, the ship, and the art of sailing.
